There are a couple of pieces that are all starting to come into place so if this post seems a little disjointed you know why.
1) Repositioning SA as PBY (Profit Being You) classes’ syndication/leadership “community organization”.
Perhaps badly worded but let me explain. PBY is a WordPress, Social Media and Marketing course co-taught by Jodie Thompson and myself, which provides a vital, much-needed, education component . However, many SA/PBY Tribe members do not need or wish such a training and that is cool if they already have foundation skills.
Rather than merge SA fully into PBY’s paid class which was originally debated, PBY becomes a parent organization in the sense that SA becomes part of its open (free) community. This brings in a stream of leadership, education, and new networking possibilities. SA benefits through increased activity, leadership and education. PBY benefits through not needing to form a separate syndication team and having a nice way to contribute back to the community as a whole. Win-Win. This does not stop non-students from leading teams, forming teams, or any other function in SA. PBY Tribe/SA remains a free community.
2) Positioning PBY Tribe as a “Mastermind” small-tribe syndication model community.
While the large-scale aspects are still needed, SA/PBY Tribe’s strength is in its small teams and “tribes with training wheels”. SA will continue to focus on these small teams. This is one of the areas that we feel are still under-served in the community and it would be wrong for us to stray from that at this time. While the whole (sum) of Profit Being You is a large community, and thus Tribe, and will certainly interact and share content, the syndication model we will focus on for the time being is the small team model. 3) Give PBY Tribe and PBY WP & SM members both access to some additional resources and tools
This will enable you to strengthen your brand and get some early exposure. At this time I’m looking for members of the entire community that would like to take advantage of our GoToWebinar access and gain my assistance in guest presenting a webinar. This is a great chance for you to speak on any topic your passionate about to the community. It will bring a blend of free events and free and paid recordings and some great exposure. Give some thought to your topic and let me know as soon as you’re ready to jump on the webinar presenter list!
This combination of moves should tighten up the community as a whole. We become better able to serve a larger member base AND provide better syndication numbers and business results all around when these tribe communities work together. While distinct units remain within the community, that is appropriate for Tribes. A tiered and modular approach can function very well and lead to increased cooperation.
